Masai Mara is famous all around the world for the wildebeest migration that takes place annually from the month of July. The Wildebeest migration is regarded as one of the seven wonders of the world. More then one millions zebra, wildebeest and antelopes cross the mara river in search of greener pastures, most of them perish while crocodiles, lions, leopars, cheetahs and hyenas make a kill on the most vulnerable wildlife. People come from all over the world to witness this spectacle. Below is a three day program to masai mara game reserve to view the wildebeest migration ( 7th wonder of the world ).
5 Days Masai Mara Migration Safari
Day 1: Masai Mara
Depart Nairobi early morning and drive along the floor of the Rift Valley to Maasai Mara arriving at the Masai Mara Serena lodge in time for lunch. Spend the afternoon at leisure, afternoon game drives followed by dinner and overnight stay at Masai Mara Serena lodge.
Day 2 - 3 - 4: Masai Mara
After an early breakfast, go for the morning game drive and proceed to the view point where you can see the heards of wildebeest crossin the mara river. This is a first class seat the world famous spectacle that is the masai mara wilderbeast migration.
Lunch at the lodge and spend the afternoon at leisure. Later for the evening game drive. You have an option of gooing to the mara river to view wildebeest migration or a game drive to the rest of the park. Masai Mara has a variety of wildlife like lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopard, antelopes and elephant. Bird life is also abundant.
Other options include a visit to the masai village or a baloon safari. All meals at the Masai Mara Serena lodge.
Day 5: Nairobi
Have an early breakfast then do a game drive for a chance to spot any wildlife you might have missed on your previous game drive. Depart and drive to Nairobi arriving late afternoon.
